Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Mahasiswa Akuntansi (JAKMA) will go through a rigorous and fair review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific contribution of each published article. We implement a systemDouble-Blind Review, where the identities of the author and reviewer are kept secret from each other to ensure objectivity.

The manuscript review process is as follows:

  1. Manuscript Submission: The author submits the manuscript through the JAKMA Open Journal System (OJS) in accordance with the writing guidelines(author guidelines) that has been determined.

  2. Initial Screening by the Editor:The editor will conduct an initial assessment of the manuscript to ensure its suitability with the Focus and scope journal, check for plagiarism, and verify the completeness of the manuscript according to the applicable format. Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria will be returned to the author (decline), Meanwhile, those who pass will be continued to the review stage.

  3. Reviewer Assignment: The editor will appoint at least two Mitra Bestari (Reviewer) who have expertise in accordance with the field of manuscript study. This process is carried out in a systematic mannerdouble-blind.

  4. Review Process: The Bestari Partner will evaluate the substance of the manuscript, including methodology, novelty, quality of analysis, and clarity of presentation. The reviewer will provide recommendations to the editor, which include:

    • Accepted: Manuscripts are accepted without improvement.

    • Revisions Required: The manuscript requires minor or major improvements.

    • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires substantial improvement and must go through a review process.

    • Declined: The manuscript was refused for publication.

  5. Editor's Decision: The editor will consider all reviews and recommendations from Mitra Bestari to make a final decision. This decision will be submitted to the author through OJS.

  6. Author Revision: If the manuscript needs improvement, the author is given time to revise the manuscript according to the input and comments from the Bestari Partner.

  7. Final Check: Revised manuscripts will be re-examined by the editor to ensure all feedback has been properly accommodated. Editors can decide whether or not the manuscript needs to be sent back to the reviewer.

  8. Production and Publication: The manuscript that has been received will go through a process copyediting, layouting, dan proofreading before finally being published online in a scheduled edition (April or October).

The entire process, from delivery to decision, is expected to be completed within time 8 to 12 weeks.
