Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Research Scholars (IJRS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of scholarly integrity and academic rigor. To ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the research we publish, all submitted manuscripts undergo a strict and transparent evaluation process.

IJRS employs a Double-Blind Peer Review system. Throughout this process, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept strictly confidential to guarantee an objective and unbiased assessment.

1. Initial Screening (Desk Review) Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor conducts an initial evaluation. At this stage, manuscripts are reviewed to ensure they:

  • Align with the journal’s Focus and Scope (intersection of social/political inquiry and management).

  • Meet the minimum formatting and structural guidelines.

  • Are written in clear, academic English.

  • Pass a strict similarity/plagiarism check using specialized software (e.g., Turnitin). Manuscripts that do not meet these initial criteria may be rejected outright (Desk Reject) without being sent for peer review.

2. Reviewer Assignment Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are stripped of all identifying author information and assigned to at least two independent experts from our international editorial board or external network of reviewers. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the specific subject area of the manuscript.

3. The Review Process Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on several core academic criteria, including:

  • Originality and Significance: Does the research provide a novel contribution to the fields of social sciences, political inquiry, or management?

  • Methodological Rigor: Are the research methods, data collection, and analysis sound and appropriate?

  • Theoretical Framework: Is the study grounded in relevant, up-to-date literature?

  • Clarity and Structure: Is the argument presented logically, coherently, and in a well-organized manner?

4. Reviewer Recommendations Following their evaluation, reviewers will submit a comprehensive report along with one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication in its current form.

  • Revisions Required (Minor): The manuscript is conditionally accepted, pending minor corrections regarding formatting, clarity, or missing references.

  • Resubmit for Review (Major): The manuscript has potential but requires significant restructuring, re-analysis, or methodological improvements. The revised version will undergo a second round of review.

  • Decline Submission: The manuscript is fundamentally flawed, lacks originality, or falls entirely outside the journal’s scope.

5. Final Decision The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief. This decision is made based on the reviewers' reports and recommendations. The editorial team will send a formal notification to the corresponding author, along with constructive feedback from the reviewers, regardless of the final outcome.
